Once upon a time there was a small tavern on the shores of Lake Maggiore ... The Zacchera family's hotel tradition began far away. Since 1873, to be precise, when Francesco Zacchera decided to open the Milanese Osteria. Stresa, Baveno and the other pearls of Lake Maggiore already attract travelers from all over Europe, but the tourist infrastructure is still largely out there. Francesco Zacchera is a true pioneer. The tavern is transformed into Locanda Italia; later it will be transformed into the elegant Hotel Splendid.

Hotel Splendid, the only hotel with a private beach on Lake Maggiore, also has a private jetty. The well-equipped wellness area, a restaurant with panoramic terrace and the bar open on the "piazzetta", overlooking the lake, complete the refined personality and make it also suitable for evocative wedding receptions. Thanks to seven meeting rooms, Hotel Splendid also offers service for organizing business meetings and congresses, welcoming up to one hundred and fifty people.
